About the eBook

On Friday 12th June LeapEd and Nosy Crow issued a digital ebook FREE for anyone to read on screen or print out, about the coronavirus and the measures taken to control it.  It has been written by staff within the publishing company and LeapEd Services, with expert input from Professor Graham Medley of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine who acted as a consultant, and advice from two head teachers and a child psychologist.

The ebook is easy to print on A4 paper on a home printer or a local print shop. We encourage parents to do this if they want to reduce their child's screen time.

LeapEd has worked with Nosy Crow to create this Edisi Malaysia, with updated localised information. LeapEd and Nosy Crow have made this ebook available free of charge and want to share it as widely as possible.

The ebook answers key questions in simple language appropriate for 5 to 9 year olds:

  • What is the coronavirus?
  • How do you catch the coronavirus?
  • What happens if you catch the coronavirus?
  • Why are people worried about catching the coronavirus?
  • Is there a cure for the coronavirus?
  • Why are some places we normally go to closed?
  • What can I do to help?
  • What’s going to happen next?

LeapEd and Nosy Crow want to make sure that this ebook is accessible to every child and family and so the book is offered totally free of charge to anyone who wants to read it.

You can download a PDF copy of the ebook below. Choose between the English or Malaysia Editions.
