Managing Director’s Message

Changing overnight was uncomfortable, to say the least. However, with the support and camaraderie amongst the leadership team, we managed to navigate the uncertainties around us and chartered new paths, where needed.

The development team continued to think of ways to reach out to schools, and support teachers to ensure learning never stops. They came up with Webinars, professional learning communities (PLCs) and even collaborated with Nosy Crow, an international Publisher, to translate a children’s book on Coronavirus into BM. Made available online for free, the book (beautifully illustrated by the renowned illustrator of "The Gruffalo") provided a useful resource for parents and teachers to explain the impact of COVID-19 to children.

The ground team also remained steadfast in engaging schools to offer support and advice – especially for online teaching and learning. Their biggest challenge was to help teachers to continue their students’ learning, despite school closures. Not to mention that there were many students who were difficult to reach due to connectivity challenges, especially in rural areas.

The corporate support team were our anchor through all this. Safety of our people is of utmost importance. Hence, assistance was provided to keep us safe at home, while enabling our Work From Home (WFH) mode. They ensured we could carry on working to support those who needed it most.

Change can be uncomfortable, but we learned and grew stronger. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow LeapEdians, for believing in this dream and fighting on.
